Update: The Wests Tigers have confirmed that Jamal Idris is out for the season, having torn his ACL at training.

"Scans have confirmed that Idris has suffered an ACL tear in his knee, which will sideline the centre for the remainder of the 2017 season," read a statement on www.weststigers.com.au

"Wests Tigers will continue to monitor and support Idris as he begins his rehabilitation process."

Wests Tigers star Jamal Idris has suffered a serious knee injury at training that could be season-ending, reports Zac Bailey of Fox Sports.

"@WestsTigers centre Jamal Idris has ruptured his ACL. Same knee as last time. His season is over," tweeted Bailey.

Idris had been preparing to continue his comeback this weekend after recovering from a hamstring injury against the Eels in round seven.

The former Kangaroos representative returned to the NRL with Wests Tigers this year after an 18 month absence.

Idris left the Penrith in 2015 due to personal reasons, spending time travelling the world over the past 18 months.

He was recruited to add depth next year to the Tigers' outside backs.
