Robbie Farah is emptying his pockets for the Lebanese community, paying for 100 fans to travel and watch their opening World Cup game against France.

Farah knows just how important this game is for Lebanon's chances of progressing to the knockout stage which is why he wants to create an electric atmosphere.

“Obviously Canberra is a bit far away but that first game against the French is a massive game for us and we want to get as many Lebanon fans there as possible, so we thought let’s get them down there," Farah said.

“We want to turn it into our home ground and make it as intimidating for the French as we can.

"We need all our Lebanese fans in Sydney to get down to Canberra and support us.”

There are also reports PNG's opening World Cup game against Wales in Port Moresby is a 25,000 spectator sellout.
