Roosters v Rabbitohs | Another Chapter In The Book Of Feuds Set To Be Written This Finals Series

Hostilities are set to be renewed in the longest surviving rivalry in the NRL, with the South Sydney Rabbitohs and Sydney Roosters on course for a finals showdown.

Both sides hold a win over each other in 2018, with the Rabbitohs taking the chocolates in Round 6 at Allianz Stadium, winning 26-14. 

However, the Roosters would exact revenge in Round 22 with a gutsy 18-14 win over the then-table topping Bunnies. 

It means we could see the rubber-match throughout the finals series or potentially on Grand Final day. 

This would be the first time these two foundation clubs would play in a Grand Final since 1931, where Souths lost out to Easts 19-3.

The rivalry is fierce with genuine hatred between the two sides.  

"It was my first game in the NRL, against the Roosters at ANZ so I learned about it pretty quickly," Rabbitohs enforcer Sam Burgess told NRL.com. 

"Me and Russell (Crowe) spent a lot of time together back then as well so he'd drip feed me the history. You do learn about the rivalry.

"There are a lot of the local juniors and the more time you spend in the community you understand what it means to a lot of people."

Despite the rivalry being more than 100 years-old, it still remains strong and if these two sides were to meet in the Grand Final, it would not only bring Sydney to a grinding halt but write yet another glorious chapter in the 'Book of Feuds'.
