In an incredible turn of events, 2018 Melbourne recruit Sandor Earl is only weeks away from retuning to full-time training with the Storm after rupturing his ACL just five months ago.

The club have announced Earl is almost 10 weeks ahead of schedule and if selected could return to the NRL later this year.

"It’s going to be one hell of a preseason by the time I’m done," Earl told the Sunday Herald Sun.

"I’m not coming back to ease into it or have a warm-up game ... I’m coming to smash it from the get go.

"If something comes up I want to be the first cab off the rank."

Earl hasn't featured in the NRL since 2013 when he was suspended for four-years following his involvement in the peptide scandal.
