Sharks skipper Paul Gallen has savaged criticism of him wanting zero drugs tolerance in the NRL.

“I’m of the opinion that rugby league players or professional athletes shouldn’t be taking cocaine. I don’t know why it’s such a big issue to be honest,” Gallen said on Triple M Dead Set Legends.

“Going through what I’ve been through, I suppose it’s given people a voice to say 'you’re a hypocrite'.

"You saw Paul Kent [on Fox Sports] say that I have a point but that I shouldn’t be able to speak on it but, there’s a big difference. I pleaded guilty to something that was given to me by my club. I guarantee you one thing, clubs aren’t giving players cocaine.” Listen to the full audio below.
