Slater Shouldn't Play For QLD In Origin: Bennett

Despite yesterday's news of Billy Slater's player's return to NRL after a long injury absence, Wayne Bennett has said it is 'unrealistic' for the player to be considered for Queensland's State of Origin side.

Slater, 33, is set to return from a year of sitting on the sidelines from a shoulder reconstruction to playing in Melbourne's home NRL clash against Brisbane on Thursday night.

Queensland will monitor Slater's progress ahead of this year's Origin series but Bennett said the veteran No.1 should not be considered just yet.
