Cooper Cronk's decision to move to Sydney to be closer to his fiancé Tara Rushton has sparked discussion about whether this is actually a retirement announcement.

However Triple M's Paul Kent has hosed down talk that Cronk will hang up the boots, saying that he spoke with Tara Rushton on the day that Cronk made the announcement and she said he was inclined to play on.

"She told me very clearly that he is thinking about playing next year," Kenty said.

"They had a lot of talks about his future, and she left it totally up to him.

"She didn't want to play any part in that, because obviously in any relationship if you try to influence the decision there's a risk of resentment."

In terms of where he'll end up, Kenty said that the Bulldogs were chief contenders, as well as the Tigers (depending on how their signing period pans out), and the Sharks (depending on Jack Bird),
