One of Melbourne's big men, Jordan McLean, is looking to be moving north, with a big deal on the cards from the Cowboys.

According to foxsports.com.au, McLean has already put pen to paper, but the 10-day cooling off period is yet to expire.

It's thought that the deal is more lucrative than the Storm could offer, and will be for three or four years.

"They're investing in the potential, and the Storm have created a talented player coming through the Storm system with no real reward for that," Triple M's Ryan Girdler said.

"It's a massive distraction."

This comes after the loss of Tohu Harris (Warriors) and Kevin Proctor (Titans) from the end of 2017.
