UPDATE: The Roosters have released a statement concerning the Mitchell Pearce incident, saying "Pearce has been stood down from all training commitments until the Club concludes its internal investigation.
"The Club continues to work closely with the NRL Integrity Unit and will be making no further comment at this time."
There is a report in The Daily Telegraph that the "Roosters [will] strip Mitchell Pearce of the captaincy, impose [a] $50,000 fine and ban him from the World Club series; NRL likely to impose at least a 6 match ban."

Mitchell Pearce has been involved in an Australia Day incident that could end his NRL career, according to Channel 7.
Footage has been offered to several media outlets of the Sydney Rooster in a "depraved" act with a dog.
The clip was apparently filmed by a fellow partygoer.
They report that the video also shows a drunk Pearce trying to kiss a woman and also urinating on himself.

Sterlo On The Mitchell Pearce Scandal
Triple M's Peter Sterling said "it's disappointing" behaviour from one of the biggest names in the game.
“It’s disappointing," said Sterlo, on Triple M's Rush Hour.
“Maybe if he was a low profile player at another club, but we’re talking about a guy now who’s got form and is one of the leading players in our game.
“This will be deemed to have brought the game into disrepute as he has done it in the past.

“When you sign a contract you are a representative of your club and the game 24/7.
“It’s so unnecessary and our players need to get their head around the fact of what they have to jeopardise and no matter where you are these days someone is filming and you have to be totally aware of that and on top of it.
“The guys have got every right to be out on Australia Day, on a boat enjoying themselves. The vast majority of the Roosters had a great time and went home; Mitchell should have done the same thing. He’ll pay the consequences."
