The first massive injury has been officially logged for this Nines tournament with Aaron Gray sustaining a medial ligament tear during Souths' first clash of the series, according to the Australian's Brent Read.
Reporting from NZ, Ready said that Gray was on crutches after the clash with the Raiders, and the injury to his right knee could mean several weeks on the sideline.
