The Bears Are Set For A Return To The NRL

Speaking on Triple M's Dead Set Legends, Triple M and the Australian's Brent Read has revealed that we could be seeing the Bears making a long-awaited comeback to the NRL.

While there have been campaigns for years since Super League dramas forced the side out of the competition, the sale of the Gold Coast Titans is being touted as the best way for the Bears to field a first-grade side. Listen to the full report below.

"Basically what's happened is the Bears have set up this consortium and I think they've given the consortium the rights to their logo and colours," Ready said.

"And the idea is that they will take the colours and logo and try to buy the franchise from the NRL.

"It will be based in the Gold Coast but will play one game a year at North Sydney Oval and be the 'Gold Coast Bears'.

"Their argument is that you get the best of both worlds - you get the team on the Gold Coast and the Bears back in the competition."
