It's the illustorus and elite-level club that only 29 NRL players have the privilege of being part of.

The 300-game club houses names such as Smith, Lockyer, Lamb, Menzies and Hindmarsh ... just to name a few.

Now in 2018, there's a possibility five more players will join this incredible group of players.

1. Billy Slater - 299 Games

A career that began on the wing in 2003, is now winding down as one of the greatest fullbacks to ever play the game of rugby league.

However, not before a 34-year-old Billy Slater accomplishes yet another big milestone.

Billy 'The Kid' is just one game away from the magic 300-number and should achieve this historic record, on an equally historic day for rugby league when the NRL opens the new Optus Stadium in Perth in an opening round double header.

The second-highest try scorer to ever play in the NRL (183 tries) even missed almost two years of rugby league due to injuries, a scary thought considering how many games or tires Slater could be sitting on if he stayed injury-free.

2. Johnathan Thurston - 299 Games

The great 'JT' has been stuck on 299 since June 10, 2017 after a shoulder injury sustained in Origin ruled him out for the remainder of the 2017 season.

Like his Queensland teammate, Thurston is also set to join the 300-club during the opening round of the year when his Cowboys will play in front of a sold-out home crowd against the Cronulla Sharks.

Thurston will then hopefully lead the North Queensland charge towards another Premiership in what shapes to be his final season in the NRL.

3. John Sutton - 283 Games

The only player in the Rabbitohs 110-year history to play 200 games for the club, now has the chance to become the first player ever in the Red and Green to play 300.

Sutton has been at the club at the highest of highs and lowest of lows, with no doubt his most memorable moment, was captaining the Redfern-based club to Premiership glory for the first time in 43 years back in 2014.

Now Sutton has the chance to create a bit of individual history late on in the 2018 season.

4. Simon Mannering - 280 Games

A mainstay of the Warriors starting 13 for the good part of 12 years, Mannering is set to become the first Warrior to play 300 games.

Debuting in 2005, the Kiwi International captained the Warriors to the 2011 Grand Final, unfortunately in a losing-effort to the Manly Sea Eagles.

Mannering is set to become the first Warrior to play 300 NRL games, all be it barring a major injury that could keep the 31-year-old from achieving this incredible milestone.

5. Sam Thaiday - 279 Games

Set to play in his 16th and final season, Sam Thaiday has accomplished just about everything there is possible in the NRL.

A 2006 Premiership winner with the Broncos, winning multiple individual awards and now maybe in 2018 Thaiday could join the elite 300-game club.

With his Origin representative days seemingly over, Thaiday will be fully focused on going out on a high note with the Brisbane-club by potentially winning another Premiership and reaching the magic 300 number.
