According to Triple M and Fox Sport's James Hooper, Des Hasler will take legal action against the Bulldogs after his sacking earlier this week

Hoops believes the Bulldogs have no leg to stand on after parading Hasler's re-signing back in April.

"There's going to be legal action," Hoops said.

"A bizarre situation because the Bulldogs announced that Des had a new two-year contract back in April.

"Now the chairman Ray Dibb has decided that particular head of agreement that was drawn up, was non-binding so therefore the contract doesn't exist anymore and he doesn't owe Des any money.

"When legal get hold of it, it's a pretty black and white, open and shut case.

"The Bulldogs publicly spruiked everywhere that Des had agreed to a two-year extension and he was going to be the coach for 2018 and 2019.

"They have then terminated the arrangement so therefore they're going to be liable for a fair payout."

Although this just may be a ploy to aid the current Bulldogs board at the upcoming elections.

"This is a smoother and stalling tactic, until the elections are on so they can say 'we didn't have to pay Des a cent, it hasn't cost the club anything,' Hoops said.

"They'll get re-elected at the elections and then they'll settle out of court for an undisclosed figure."
