A few days after Melbourne was painted yellow and black, the Storm have brought the thunder turning the self-proclaimed 'sporting capital of the world' purple after an emphatic Grand Final win.

Storm supporters packed into Melbourne's Federation Square to welcome their Grand Final hero's home.

Storm coach Craig Bellamy told the fans in attendance he enjoyed a rare experience of watching the final minutes of the game, pressure-free.

"Last eight-10 minutes was very pleasant to be quite honest, to go down and enjoy the result before full-time was a nice feeling," Bellamy said.

However, it seems Bellamy and most of his players celebrated well into the night.

When the Storm coach was quizzed if he remembered much of the last night's efforts Bellamy responded with,

"It was a purple haze last night," Bellamy said.

The Storm reportedly left ANZ Stadium at around 4am this morning with celebrations to continue throughout the week.
