Three Scottish World Cup players have been stood down after being refused entry onto a flight for being intoxicated.

In a statement, Scottish officials said players Johnny Walker, Sam Brooks and captain Danny Brough have been released from the World Cup squad due to misconduct.

Scotland were thrashed at the hands of New Zealand 74-6 in their second World Cup pool game yesterday. 

The Braveheart's face Samoa in their final World Cup pool match Saturday afternoon in Cairns.
