Ahead of the their special testimonial match early next year, Johnathan Thurston has taken a cheeky dig at Cameron Smith much discussed alter ego.

Speaking to Marto, Ed & Robin, Thurston said much like his headgear, a special Cameron Smith souvenir, should be given away to the fans who attend the game.

"Maybe an accountant suit ... or a calculator," Thurston said.

On the testimonial game, Thurston is humbled at the opportunity both the Cowboys and Storm have given him.

"Smithy and I are both humbled that our clubs have afford us this opportunity to play at Suncorp Stadium before her season kicks-off," he said.

"We've had a lot of great memories at Suncorp stadium and it will be the last time the both of us will be on that field at once.

"It will be an emotional night."

The grand final rematch will be played on February 23, with the Cowboys Community Foundation, Ovarian Cancer Australia and Prostate Cancer Foundation named as the charity partners.
