Cronulla Sharks co-captain Wade Graham has backed the referees for taking a hard-stance during the opening four rounds of the NRL season.

Despite being involved in a game where 33 penalties were called and two players were made to sit on the sideline for 10-minutes, Graham ultimately is in favour of how the referees are governing the game. 

Joining Triple M Saturday NRL the NSW and Australian back-rower now believes the onus in on the players to change the way they play the game and avoid the constant penalty calls.
