Rugby league flyer James Roberts won’t be returning to Sydney anytime soon after signing a four-year contract extension with the Brisbane Broncos.
Roberts has been through many off-field issues which have plagued his career so far.
Coach Wayne Bennett admits the 24-year-old will only get better after giving up both drugs and alcohol.
“It’s not all about James anymore. It is about the team,” said Bennett.
“He interacts really, really well with them. And he’s very valued by them.
“With his off-field behaviour, I know he’s made some real commitments there and it’s not easy to do what’s he done.
“He’s obviously given up alcohol, given up drugs.” Listen to the full audio below.
