It was only minutes after his side scraped into the World Cup final but 'supercoach' Wayne Bennett has already started the mind games with rival Mal Meninga.

Bennett was asked if his side could beat Meninga's Kanagroos, and it was a typical Wayne Bennett response.

"Probably not," Bennett said.

"But we’ll be there next week — we’ll still go to the game."

Bennett knows his side have to be perfect in order to upset the Kanagroos, although, that task might be tougher potentially without Raiders hooker Josh Hodgson who injured his knee twice during the semi-final win.

"I don't think he'll be right to play next week. You don't normally limp off like that and play next week," Bennett said.

Captain Sean O’Loughlin will also face a race against the clock to be fit for Saturday night's final after picking up a quad strain.
