Titans CEO Graham Annesley spoke with Triple M Sunday NRL, and while talking about Hayne's pending contract extension, Annesley revealed that Hayne's injury will be keeping him off the field for a decent amount of time. Listen to the full interview with Graham Annesley below.

"Things have changed a little bit in light of yesterday, in that he's not going to be on the field for a bit," Annesley said.

"It remains to be confirmed how serious the injury is, but I looked at it yesterday and his ankle was about twice the size of the other ankle.

"He's going for scans tomorrow morning, but I don't expect to see him on the field for an extended period of time.

"So those April/May dates become even more irrelevant because he's not going to be on the field for the next month or so."

It has previously been reported that Hayne has until April/May to exercise an option to extend his contract with the Titans, however Annesley hosed down talk that the club was concerned about it.

Early talk is that Hayne will miss at least a month.

The Titans take on the Eels next weekend.
