Tigers halfback Luke Brooks is currently in the middle of a contract debacle that's eating up a lot of headlines.

However, the club has managed to keep the extent of the hamstring injury he sustained last weekend agains Melbourne largely under wraps.

It's been reported by smh.com.au that Brooks will miss up to six weeks after picking up a grade two hamstring tear.

There's a chance that he could be back on the field within a month, but it's more likely that he'll return in round 10 - a whopping seven week break.

The extra week off is due to the rep round that pushes the footy back in April.

This course of events means that it's likely that Brooks will have to ink a deal for the next few years without getting another shot to play for his worth.
