The Parramatta Eels are preparing a take-it-or-leave it one time deal for Jarryd Hayne to potentially rejoin the club for the 2018 season.
NRL.com is reporting the Eels are willing to make Hayne an offer between $500,000 and $600,000 for a one-year deal.
Meanwhile, The Australian is reporting Hayne won't be offered a one-year extension unless he can prove himself in an on-field capacity, making it an 'easy out' for the Eels if things don't work out.
Triple M Grill Team's Mark Geyer believes Hayne moving back to the Eels could be a 'legacy' factor, something MG experienced towards the end of his very own career.
"When I played for Penrith - I left in 1993 - under bad circumstances, I wanted to go back and play at Penrith to mend some bridges," MG said.
"This could all be about a legacy contract. He wants to go back to cement his legacy at parramatta and that's exactly what I wanted to do.
"When I come back, it was the best thing I ever done. The last three years of my footy I enjoyed like never before because I was finally at peace wiht myself.
"I was at the place I wanted to be, which was Penrith. I didn't want to play for Balmain, I didn't want to play for the Western Reds, I wanted to play with Penrith.
"For whatever rhyme or reason I wasn't playing for them but when I went back everything seemed to make sense."
