On The Sporting Probe, it was suggested that while NRL crowds used to gather "through osmosis" and intuitively know when games were on, now more advanced marketing systems are needed.
Roy & HG were reportedly alarmed by the lack of coverage that the World Cup is receiving, given that the tournament is taking place at season's end.
"In days gone by, you'd just have to put on a game of rugby league anywhere and people would come," Roy said.
"You've got to get the whip out more now and offer motivation.
"It's all about game day experience. Lotto tickets, or you could get to meet the players. Or that could be a turn off. I think we'll leave it with the lotto tickets.
"You should be guaranteed a free lotto ticket, should you stay for ten minutes."
