Dylan Alcott and Heath Davidson have taken out their first doubles title at the 2018 Australian Open, winning the quad wheelchair doubles.

The duo knocked off American David Wagner and Brit Andrew Lapthorne 6-0 7-6 (10-6) to claim their first bit of silverware together.

The duo breezed through the first set in 23 minutes before resisting a challenge from their opponents, who took home the second set.

It's the first slam title for the two, who took home gold together in the 2016 Paralympics.

“It’s been amazing for so many of you to come out and watch us in this incredible atmosphere,” Alcott told the crowd.

“It’s changing the face of wheelchair tennis. It means the world to us. Heath, love you, so proud of what we’ve managed to do.”
