Diddy was only “playing” about changing his name to Brother Love, but the former WWE manager of the same name is pretty unimpressed and is now threatening to open a “can of whoop-ass” on the rapper.

Bruce Prichard created the character Brother Love in the 1980s and managed the likes of The Undertaker across his two decades in the WWE – and now he wants to challenge Diddy to a wrestling match to settle the score, according to TMZ Sports.

“You stay in your world and I'll stay in mine, because I don't wanna have to get you inside of a solid steel cage and open up my own can of whoop-ass on you and explain to you what 'Love' is all about," Prichard said.

“And Diddy, just because I love you, doesn't mean I like you. So remember that, that's coming from a real man of love, the only man of love, the one, the only, the original Brother Love."

Diddy made waves last weekend, marking his 48th birthday by announcing on Instagram he was changing his name to “Brother Love”.

"I decided to change my name again," he explained in the video.

"I'm just not who I am before. I'm something different. So, my new name is Love, aka Brother Love. I will not be answering to Puffy, Diddy, Puff Daddy, or any of my other monikers except for Love or Brother Love."

Prichard was pretty unimpressed with the move, hitting out at the rapper – real name Sean Coombs – on Twitter, with lots of back up support from fans.

He tweeted: “Yo. Find a new gimmick. I invented and perfected Brother Love. I am the original and you are not. Remember North Carolina.”
