UFC Lightweight champion Conor McGregor has had to be restrained after stormed into the cage at an MMA event in Dublin.

McGregor jumped the cage fence to celebrate with his teammate Charlie Ward after his first round win at Bellator 187.

The Irishman, who was not a licensed cornerman, excitedly jumped in the cage to celebrate with Ward.

Referee Marc Goddard, who has a history with McGregor, immediately attempted to get McGregor to leave the cage ... which upset the UFC star.

McGregor took exception with Goddard telling him to leave and touching his chest, then shouted back at Goddard and eventually shoved the referee.

McGregor then had to be restrained before he was escorted out and left the cage on his own.
