The Notorious One, Conor McGregor has taken to Instagram to announce he will be returning to fight once again.

In the post, the UFC Lightweight Champion (155 pounds) says he offered to fight on short notice against Featherweight (145 pounds) contender Frankie Edgar when UFC Featherweight Champion Max Holloway was forced to pull out of their scheduled fight at UFC 222 next month due to injury.

Although, money issues on the UFC's part seemingly ended any hope of a quick return to the Octagon for McGregor.

McGregor last fought in a boxing ring, losing to Floyd Mayweather by TKO in the 10th round last August.

The Irishman hasn't fought inside the Octagon since November 2016, when he defeated Eddie Alvarez to become the UFC Lightweight Champion.
