More than two years after emotionally retiring from competition, Daniel Bryan has announced that he has been cleared to return to the ring.

The four-time World Champion was forced to call it a day in February 2016 after suffering from post-concussion seizures that were later found to be a result of a lesion on the front of his brain.

But on Tuesday, WWE officials confirmed that Bryan had been medically cleared by three, independent neurosurgeons, neurologists and concussion experts as well as the organisation's medical director Dr. Joseph Maroon.

The 36-year-old, who became the SmackDown LIVE General Manager after his retirement, has been tireless in his campaign to return to the ring.

And the timing of the announcement may indicate that Bryan's first match back could very well be at WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans next month.
