Leon White, better known as former pro wrestling star Vader, has died aged 63.

Vader passed away on Monday night American time with heart-related issues, after being diagnosed with a severe case of pneumonia.

His son broke the news on his father's Twitter account.

“It is with a heavy heart to inform everyone that my father, Leon White, passed away on Monday night at approximately 7.25pm," he wrote.

Vader joined wrestling after a career in the NFL, from which he retired due to injury.

He made his mark in WCW, becoming a three-time World Champion, as well as in the WWF, NJPW and AJPW during the 1990s and 200s
