Both Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor have been temporarily suspended by the Nevada Athletic Commission over the brawl after their UFC lightweight title fight in Las Vegas.

Both fighters were sent letters telling them they will be suspended for 10 days as of Monday the 15th of October.

The NAC will investigate further and can extend the suspension when they meet on October 24.

A huge brawl broke out both in and outside the Octagon after the fight, with tensions between the two camps boiling over after Nurmagomedov’s win.

Nurmagomedov leapt outside the ring to take on McGregor’s entourage, while some of the Russian’s crew jumped inside to brawl with McGregor himself.

Nurmagomedov lashed out on Instagram, accusing the UFC of double standards.

He specifically referenced an incident last year in New York when McGregor threw a hand trolley at Nurmagomedov’s bus and wasn’t disciplined by the UFC.

"They could have killed someone there, why no one says anything about insulting my homeland, religion, nation, family?" Nurmagomedov posted.

"We have defended our honour and this is the most important thing. We intend to go to the end."

Nurmagomedov's $US2 million ($2.8 million) for the fight has been withheld by the commission pending the outcome of the investigation.
