Tom Brady has become the NFL's all-time leader in career passing yards in the New England Patriots' 27-13 win at the New York Jets.

Brady's four-yard pass to running back Sony Michel in the second quarter against the Jets was the record setter.

The 41-year-old five-time Super Bowl champion threw for 283 yards against the Jets, making the record now 79,416 - which includes regular season and post-season passing yards.

Peyton Manning (79,279), the still active New Orleans Saints' Drew Brees (77,789) and Brett Favre (77,693) are next best.

Brady is fourth all-time in regular season passing yards, behind Brees, Manning and Favre.

"Just wins," Brady said when asked about his latest record.

"That's what we're here for. I'm trying to be a part of as many of these as I can."

Brady also reached 3000 yards passing for the 16th-straight season, tying Manning for second in NFL history behind Favre's 18.
