A verbal agreement has been reached for Jeff Horn to fight American Terence Crawford, according to promoter Dean Lonergan.

Horn has ignored overtures from Anthony Mundine and will take Crawford on at Madison Square Garden in New York.

The fight is set to take place on April 15th Australian time, with the undercard potentially including boxing legend Manny Pacquiao.

A formal contract could take up to two weeks for finalise.

Lonergan said that the purse for the Crawford fight was “significantly more” than the $2 million the Mundine camp offered.

The fight will be on the same day as the closing ceremony of the Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast.
