Australia has a new Premier League star - Aaron Mooy.

The former A-League star, with Western Sydney and Melbourne City, has lit up the Premier League in the first two rounds, helping his side Huddersfield to two consecutive wins on their return to the top tier of English football.

Mooy directly assisted two goals in Towns 3-0 week one victory over Crystal Palace, and last night became the 17th Aussie to score in the Premier League since its inception - and what a goal it was.

Huddersfield had 26-straight passes in the lead up (Mooy with three of those), before the Australian maestro played a one-two with teammate Elias Kachunga and then curled a shot from the edge of the area into the top corner of the net.

It was Huddersfield first ever home Premier League goal, and it sent the crowd into raptures, singing their famed "Aaron Mooy has no hair but we don't care" chant.

The Australian was a class above for the entire match, and former Liverpool and England great Jamie Carragher continually pointed out in his commentary.

Mood was also singled out for praise by Huddersfield manager David Wagner.

“He doesn’t really say much, doesn’t smile a lot, he’s very calm but he is for sure very happy and very proud as well, and I think he deserves all the credit for his goal,” Wagner said of Mooy.

“He’s a great technical footballer with such unbelievable working attitude. This is why I love this player.”

Mooy joins the likes of Harry Kewell, Mark Viduka, Tim Cahill and Mile Jedinak as Aussies who have all netted in the Premier League.
