Australia is deeply entrenched in a battle to qualify for next year's World Cup in Russia.

After missing out on copious tournaments, the Socceroos' fortunes have changed since 2006, qualifying for three consecutive World Cup's.

The last, played in Brazil in 2014, didn't see the Socceroos win a match, but it did provide us with arguably the greatest goal ever scored by an Australian.

After conceding against the Netherlands, the 'Roos took the kick-off and sent a long ball forward and Tim Cahill stepped out to etch himself in World Cup history once again with this wonder goal.

Now, after trawling the internet we have uncovered crowd footage of this goal.

Situated within the Dutch fanatics behind the goals, the vision is absolutely brilliant and the roar of the crowd sends a shiver down your spine.

And it seems even the Dutch were fans of Timmy's goal, with the cameraman exclaiming, "What a world goal!"

Some fans were in sheer disbelief from Cahill's show of sublime skill.

For the record, the Netherlands won the match 3-2.
