English Premier League giants Chelsea have locked in a friendly match against A-League side Perth Glory at Optus Stadium later this year.
The match is set for July 23 and will be the first international soccer club appearance there.
Tickets will go on sale next Thursday, with prices ranging from $49.83 to $202.66 for adults.
The price points have already caused some consternation:
WA Tourism Minister Paul Papalia is hoping the game will attract international visitors from Asian nations like Singapore and Malaysia.
“This is a great opportunity for fans in those markets to visit Perth and see one of the most successful Premier League teams of the past fifteen years,” he told Perth Now.
“It will show them Perth is vibrant, right on their doorstep and the Western gateway to Australia.”
