Socceroos defender Matthew Jurman has been suspended for two games and fined over $2,000 for making a bribing gesture during a club game in Korea.

Jurman's club side the Suwon Bluewings were leading the table-topping Jeonbuk 1-0, when Jeonbuk were awarded a dubious penalty in the final moments of the contest.

As Jeonbuk player Lee Dong-gook was awaiting instruction from the referee to take the penalty, Jurman was caught on the telecast rubbing his fingers together making a money gesture, seemingly alleging Lee paid the referee to award the penalty.

Lee converted the spot kick and the game finished 1-1.

The irony behind the whole situation is Jeonbuk, were recently found guilty of previously bribing two referees in 2013.

Upon returning from international duty, Jurman was told of his suspension and fine, which will unfortunately see the Socceroos defender play no games before the all important World Cup Qualifiers against Honduras
