Jackson Irvine was part of the Socceroos side that beat Honduras 3-1 at ANZ Stadium on Wednesday night to book tickets to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
It was obviously a special night for Irvine and his fellow Socceroos, having navigated an exhausting qualifying campaign that started in June 2015 to finally get through.
It inspired Irvine to share a brilliant photo of 12-year-old him wildly celebrating the Socceroos’ drought breaking penalty shootout win against Uruguay at the same stadium 12 years earlier.
The wild excitement is good enough, but the shirt on the head and flag as a cape really tops off the look.
The draw for the 2018 FIFA World Cup is on December 1st.
