Socceroo Matt Jurman has whacked a fan who sledged him on Twitter.

Jurman, who plays for Suwon Samsung Bluewings in South Korea, made his Socceroos debut in October, and has weathered speculation about his spot in the back three.

However, he was solid in the Syria and Honduras qualifiers and has earned his spot on the plane to Russia for next year’s World Cup.

After Australia won through to Russia on Wednesday night, fan Jake White posted a list of all the star soccer players who’ll be missing the world cup next year — including some genuine superstars of the game including Arjen Robben, Alexis Sanchez and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

At the bottom, he mentioned that Jurman will be going, clearly indicating that he rates the Socceroo well outside top echelon of players.

Somehow Jurman found the tweet himself and took the opportunity to clap back:

A world cup berth, Drake wearing his jersey on stage and a Twitter rinsing within a day — Matty Jurman’s having some week!
