Tough Games For Australia In Russia
FIFA
Australia will face France, Peru and Denmark in the group stage of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
We play in Group C, with a tasty opening game against Les Bleus in Kazan on Saturday 16 June.
The Socceroos the next travel to Samara to play Denmark on Thursday 21 June, before our final group game on Tuesday 26 June against Peru.
Only the top two teams in the group qualify for the Round of 16, when the World Cup becomes a straight knock-out tournament.
The World Cup kicks off when Russia play Saudi’s Arabia on June 14. The other teams in that group are Egypt and Uruguay.
No group especially stand still out as “The Group of Death”, although 2010 winners Spain getting put without Portugal, Morocco and Iran look so intriguing.
