Australia has been bolstered by the return of captain Mile Jedinak for the first leg of the World Cup qualifier with Honduras.

Jedinak played 30 minutes for Aston Villa on the weekend, enough to convince Ange Postecoglou he was fit.

“Mile’s in the squad because he’s almost to the point where he feels good and ready to play,” Postecoglou said on Tuesday.

“From experience point of view, it’s an enormous bonus.”

The injury concerns don't end there, though, with Robbie Kruse and Mathew Leckie both facing injury concerns.

Kruse has a knee complaint, while Leckie is suspended from the first leg anyway, alongside midfielder Mark Milligan.

“(Kruse) got a bit of a knock to the knee in the last league game, so he’s a little bit of a concern at the moment as well,” Postecoglou said.

“We’ve had Les Gelis our head physio for the last 10 days. He’s spent time with Mile, Lecks, Krusey...and he’s working really closely with the clubs to give the players every chance to be ready.”
