A few eyebrows were raised in New Zealand soccer circles today when CEO Andy Martin’s resignation letter appeared on the official website.

 

It left officials scrambling to correct the record.

NZ Football board chairman Deryck Shaw had to send a text to stuff.co.nz refuting the letter.

"I understand someone has hacked our site," Shaw texted.

“Fake news.”

The article was taken down around 4pm NZ time.
