On Our Way To Russia?

Tonight's World Cup Qualifier between the Socceroos and Thailand at AAMI Park is officially a sell out.

The Socceroos must win and win well tonight if they're any chance of automatically qualifying for next year's World Cup in Russia.

And it seems the local crowd has got around the 'Roos, with Football Australia declaring the 30,000 seat stadium was sold out late this morning.

Following their 2-0 loss to Japan, a convincing Socceroos win should see them qualify.

They are currently level on points with second placed Saudi Arabia but trail the Middle East nation by a two goal difference.

A draw or a loss and the Socceroos face a tricky playoff against the third placed Asian team from Group A, before potentially tackling the fourth placed CONCACAF (Central and North America) team.

Alternatively, if the Socceroos draw or win and Saudi Arabia lose to Japan early tomorrow morning, Australia is headed to a fourth consecutive World Cup.
