Socceroo young gun Daniel Arzani has been stretchered off with a reportedly torn ACL just 20 minutes into his debut for Scottish giants Celtic.

The 19-year-old came on in the 56th minute in the 5-0 win over Dundee in the Scottish Premier League but had to be stretchered off after going down in the 78th minute, with Daily Telegraph reporter Tom Smithies reporting that the early diagnosis for Arzani is a torn ACL.

Arzani went down clutching at his knee after attempting to switch direction off the ball.

He stood up and tried to take off but couldn’t and had to be loaded on to the stretcher.

A long term injury will see Arzani miss the Asian Cup, which is set to be held in the UAE in January 2019.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers said that the club would “just have to see tomorrow” and that Arzani is “probably going to need a scan on his knee”.
