Virgin Australia Supercars Championship battlers Erebus Motorsport are still punching above their weight.

Fresh from a season in which they stunned just about everyone and won the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000, they've delivered arguably the meanest and sexiest looking ZB Commodore so far.

The man who'll steer the thing agrees.

“It looks mean, it looks fast, I’m really looking forward to getting out there,” raved David Reynolds.

“We’re the small team with a lot of passion and fight in us."

“Honestly, it’s better than I imagined and we have evolved so much as a team.”

The sharper Penrite livery for 2018 features more splashes of red and Erebus is already calling it the 'dark horse.'

Now they've conquered the mountain, team owner Betty Klimenko is eyeing more prizes.

“I always believed in my team and what they could do, now everyone else can see that too," she said.

“There’s no reason we can’t be up there and be considered one of the sport’s top dogs.”

Reynolds' new ZB Commodore is having a shakedown at Winton Raceway in Victoria.

New team-mate and rookie Anton De Pasquale will take over Reynolds' old 'hand me down' Commodore, which will be re-bodied to look like a ZB.

"It’s a good thing for Anton, a nice proven car, he’s ready to go, the aero package is the only difference," said general manager Barry Ryan.

“The chassis’ a proven package, so it gives him some security with the mental game.”

The game begins in earnest with the season-opening Adelaide 500 from March 1-4.
