Clipsal Champ Switched On By New Sponsor

Nick Percat's got fond memories of the Clipsal 500.

The South Australian driver won the trophy at last year's event in front of his home crowd last year.

So naturally, he's stoked to reveal the company will sponsor his new #8 Holden at next month's Virgin Australia Supercars Championship opener in Adelaide.

It'll be Clipsal's last year as major sponsor and the company's decided to go out by sponsoring Percat's ride.

Nick says he hasn't missed a Clipsal 500 as driver or spectator.

Before that was often at the Formula 1.

“With the motorsport side of Adelaide, given the amount of time I’d been around, to win that event was incredible. I never thought I’d drive in it, let alone have my name on the winner’s trophy.

But can he back it up in 2017 at his new team Brad Jones Racing?

“I’m definitely confident in the machinery,” he says.

“It’s a proven car and it’s not like they always have one driver do well, they’ve had good success with (Jason) Bright, Fabian (Coulthard) and (Tim) Slade."

We won't have to wait long to find out with the Supercars set to take over Adelaide's streets from March 2 to 5.
