The 2018 Commodore won’t be raced as a V8 in the Supercars!

"This is an end of an era, but the twin-turbo V6 in development by 888 Racing, may actually be quicker than the V8!" said Triple M's Becko.

"We don’t know what Ford have up their sleeve, but you can definitely assume the Mustang V8 will keep the dream alive."

Images of the MY18 Commodore were revealed today by Holden at the same time as Opel in Germany showed off its new-generation Insignia large car.

The car goes on sale in 2018 and will be the first time it was not made here in Australia.

It will feature options of a range of four cylinder engines and a non-turbo V6.
