Another Gong...

It's over Holden fans.

Your seven year reign in the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship is done.

Finished.

The blue oval is back.

In what's turning out to be a dominant year, Ford has secured the Supercars manufacturers' championship for 2017 after blitzing the streets of Surfers Paradise to win the Gold Coast 600.

Officially, Ford has and will win the most races of the 2017 season - 14 wins and counting, compared to 7 for Holden and zilch for Nissan.

They might not have won Bathurst, but the Pirtek Enduro Cup was won by Ford pairing Chaz Mostert and Steve Owen.

The other bit of silverware in a Ford trophy cabinet is the Armor All Pole Champion Award picked up by Shell V-Power Racing recruit Scott McLaughlin back in August.

But the two biggest prizes still remain for the taking.

The Drivers' Championship and the Teams' Championship.

They'll be decided over the final two rounds at the ITM Auckland SuperSprint and the Coates Hire Newcastle 500.
