Prodrive Racing Australia have got their man.

Well, they already had him but now they'll keep him long-term.

Richie Stanaway's been signed to replace Jason Bright in a four-pronged assault on the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship in 2018.

The New Zealander's been hot property after winning the opening leg of this year's PIRTEK Enduro Cup at Sandown.

His performance under pressure at the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 also turned heads making him a man in demand.

The promotion has been the worst kept secret in the paddock, but couldn't be officially confirmed until some other movements were made behind the scenes.

The 26 year old earns a full-time drive on the Supercars grid after nearly a decade spent in Europe that included stints in Formula Renault 3.5, the Porsche Supercup, the Le Mans 24 Hours and the World Endurance Championship.

“It’s been coming along for a while, but it’s good to finally have the deal done," said Stanaway.

“It’s been a childhood dream for me to race in Supercars, so it’s great to check that off the bucket list.”

“I’m aware that I’ve got a long road ahead of me and a lot to learn, but I’m really motivated."

“I’m putting my best foot forward, and want to learn as much as I possibly can in my rookie season. I’m expecting it to be tough, that’s just a realistic approach.”

Richie will pilot the #56 Ford Falcon FG X with the team currently working out sponsorship arrangements.
