This weekend promises a Supercars smorgasbord with big grids set to contest Phillip Island.

The third round of the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship will be run along with the Dunlop Super2 Series and the Kumho V8 Touring Car Series.

It's the first time all three categories have held points-paying rounds on the same weekend.

All up, there'll be 68 Supercars on track over the 3 days.

26 Supercars spanning Ford, Holden and Nissan will line up for the WD-40 Phillip Island 500.

Boasting a 23-car grid, the Super2 series is open to Next Generation racers along with the older FG Falcons and VEII Commodores.

Below that is the 19-entry Touring Car series which pits a mixture of racing cars against each other, some of them dating back as early as 1993.

It's sure to be a feast for Supercar fans, with action starting on Friday when the V8 Touring Cars roll onto the track for practice from 09:00 (AEST).
