What's Swedish for 'bye Volvo?'

The 2017 Supercar grid will have 2 more Holden Commodores on it.

The Garry Rogers Racing team have rolled down the garage doors on their Volvo S60s.

It's after a legal fight broke out when the carmaker withdrew its factory support and asked for the engines to be shipped back to Sweden.

The fallback plan for the squad was to run the Volvos with Chevrolet engines, something that didn't sit well with the team owner.

Rogers says he "bit the bullet" back in December to build two new VF II Commodores.

He's paid tribute to his staff who have cancelled holiday plans and other events to ensure they'll be complete in-time for pre-season testing.

Normally it takes around 16 weeks to build a race car, but Rogers says they've had less than 10 weeks to get the cars ready for pre-season testing.

They'll be piloted by ex-HRT man Garth Tander and James Moffat when the season begins at the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide from 2-5 March.
